Multiples

Use dominos to practice addition, learn multiples, and use strategic planning to earn more points.

These instructions can be modified to focus on any multiple. Play with 2-4 players

1. Begin with double six as the anchor domino.

Players select 8 dominos each (with 4 players select 6 dominos each). The remaining pieces are for pick up if needed.

On your turn place ONE corresponding domino to either end of the anchor piece. Think of the emerging game as a two-headed snake.

At the end of your turn, add up the total shown on the two heads of the snake.

If the total is a multiple of 5 you earn that many points.

Since 5 + 3 = 8 is not a multiple of 5 no points are earned.

#2 Players must add one domino to the snake per turn. If you can’t play with the dominos in your hand, pick up until you can make a play. Miss your turn if there are no more dominos available to pick up.

At the end of your turn, add up the two heads of the snake.

This player earns 5 points 3 + 2 = 5

3. Playing a double domino adds one more head to your snake. Now players must add up 3 numbers to make a multiple of 5.

This player earns 10 points with this move (3 + 3 + 4 = 10)

4. Play continues until one player is our of dominos. This player has ENDED the game but may not be the winner.

The first player to go out also collects the points shown on their opponent’s leftover dominos. Add this total to any points the player may have earned for multiples of 5.

The winner is the player with the most points.
